Ouzi Spices

Ingredients

Salt, Cinnamon, Cumin, Black Pepper, Coriander, All Spice, Clove, Ginger, Black Cardamom, Green Cardamom, Turmeric, Paprika, Dry Lemon, Anti Caking Agent (Silicon Dioxide).

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

Beef 750g (Minced)
Mehran Basmati Rice 750g (Washed and Soaked for 30 minutes)
Onion 1 pc (Sliced)
Mix Vegetables (Carrot & Peas) 1 cup (200g)
Dry Fruits (Pine Nuts & Almond) ½ cup / 100g
Puff Pastry As Required
Olive Oil ½ cup
Mehran Ouzi Spices 5 tbsp / 50g

Steps Of Cooking

  1. Heat oil in a large pot, add onion and fry until golden brown. Add the minced meat, Mehran Ouzi Spices and stir frequently until the meat is fully browned and cooked through.
  2. Mix vegetables and fry them for 2 – 3 minutes with the meat and onion mixture, then add Mehran Basmati Rice and pour the hot water on top.
  3. Boil on high flame for 5 minutes, then lower the flame. Steam for 15 – 20 minutes until all the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
  4. Cut the puff pastry into 4 pieces. In a wide cup, brush oil and place the puff pastry and fill it with the ouzi rice and then fold each corner into the center.
  5. Flip over onto a nonstick tray, brush with egg mixture and bake at 180°C for 18 – 20 minutes till golden.
  6. Fry the nuts in a tablespoon of ghee in a small pan until golden, then pour on top of ouzi wrapped. Serve hot.

 

SERVING SUGGESTION:

Serve with cucumber and yogurt salad.

Serving for 5 – 6 people. (5 tbsp / 50g)
