Onion (medium)

Yogurt (whipped)
1/2 cup /100g
Ginger paste
1 table spoon / 20g
Garlic paste
1 table spoon / 20g
Bay leaves

2 table spoon (chopped)
Tamarind pulp
1 1/2 - 2 table spoon
Vinegar
1 table spoon
Coconut milk
1 1/2 table spoon (dry or liquid)
Oil/ Ghee

Mehran Madras Curry Masala

Heat oil/ghee, fry onions till they turn transparent. Take out onion, grind coarsely and keep aside.

In the same oil add curry leaves, grinded onion, ginger paste and garlic paste, fry for 2-3 minutes. Now add meat, tomatoes, yogurt and Mehran Madras Curry Masala, fry further for 3-4 minutes and add water (for Chicken 1 cup and for Beef/Mutton 3-4 cups).

Cover and cook on medium heat till meat becomes tender. Add tamarind pulp and cook for few minutes. If required add water for gravy. Then add coconut milk and mix well. Now add green chili and cook for a minute, at the end add vinegar and remove.

Cooking Suggestion:

Serve with lemon juice, plain boiled rice, chapatti or Nan *To enhance aroma give baghar of curry leaves. Serve for 6-7 persons.

Preparation time:

50 minutes for Chicken, 1 1/2 - 2 hours for Beef/Mutton.
